Many different aspects of public art will be incorporated into the overall design for Hunts Grove all of which will be funded by Crest Nicholson PLC. Some will be based upon more traditional forms and others will be introduced as part of the buildings themselves, together with new landscape features. Both Stroud District Council and the local community will be consulted at all stages of the design process.
All street furniture used within Hunts Grove must be carefully considered to ensure that it reflects the concept design of the development. The detail of the street space should support and compliment the landscape and architectural character of the proposal. This will be simple but site-specific.
The examples shown are just a few which could be considered to achieve that aim. Street lighting will be to the Cambridge design, manufactured by Phillips, or other similar units. Wall mounted units will be promoted as the preferred solution with standard street lighting acceptable only where considered essential in terms of safety.
