access routes

The main access will be via the A38 at the southern road serving Quedgeley. Access into Hunts Grove will be via a new traffic signal controlled junction on the A38. The form of this junction is approved in principle with Gloucester County Council Highways Department; the technical details are still being progressed.
The new access into Hunts Grove will be completed before any new development works are commenced. The existing overbridge to the A38 at this junction will be maintained but closed to all traffic apart from buses, cyclists and pedestrians. The current development at the RAF Site No. 4 will be accessed from Waterwells, the details of which are already approved by the relevant Authorities.

village boulevard

The long route of the boulevard, some 800 mts in length, extends across the proposed development linking the open areas of the south to the upper levels of the site close to Hunts Grove wood. Paved spaces along the boulevard form a continuous linear focus that gives coherence and scale to the village. Trees are large and provide good summer shade dividing the route into separate spaces.
On either side of the boulevard the density provides a compact streetscape with buildings 2- 4 storey forming continuous frontages with differing eaves heights and roof profile.

They will be incorporated throughout the site, these roads will be designed to speeds of less than 10mph and will promote safer areas for children. Generally speaking these roads will accomadate no more than 50 units.
